Starts out slow with great reminders of opening checker moves and slowly involves you with lovely strategies to avoid blunders. I know everyone does blunders and mistakes, but Marc helps you minimize them. Marc is a soft and friendly writer whom is easy to follow. He uses illustrated positions to explain his directions. I recommend this book to all levels of players’ skills.

I can totally recommend this book with no doubt! Its easy to read and its super logic and gives you many many many hints what you are doing wrong and what need to be considered while playing the game. My PR improved tremendously from a Beginner to Advanced Player. Thank you Mark!

It's too early to report on this book .It arrived safely, and am just beginning to plow thru the pages w how-to and probabilities. It is helpful to set up one's own board while looking at the moves in the book.

More significant than the level I tested at is of course the information I gained, both of the game's well-illustrated content and in understanding my weaker and stronger areas by way of the quizzes. Being 71 years old and a Rookie at page 1, I thought Marc's personality might explain my urge to purchase How to Not Suck at Backgammon. It’s really a brilliant title. And since you asked, the book's cover is as soft as any I've owned. True enough, Marc's writer's voice is indeed engaging, yet it is his underlying organization and clarity of material that has sustained me, so far, to page 134. I'm going to keep on going through Parts III through VI. I'm experienced enough to know that I will forget most of Parts I and II unless I return to them a couple more times. That's more than okay with me. Many thanks to Marc and his team.

[My Dear Gentlepeople Gamers, thank you for soliciting my feedback. Naturally, I expect you to gently disregard, since I'm not even halfway through the book. I've enjoyed writing it much more than the last book for which I wrote feedback; it was some decades ago for Mrs. Lorraine Holloway's Literature course...I think I'll leave it at that. I want to say that Marc must receive appropriate compensation and credit should his material be expropriated by AI. But I understand he is an accomplished businessman, and not the only one among backgammon professionals, so this is likely a moot point. Regardless, no doubt quite a while ago, this concern has been overcome by events.]
