Protection against Destruction
From the dusty books of ancient Indian backgammon lore, researchers have discovered many new aspects of the game. According to their findings, legend has it, that once a player rolls double 1, it awakens Shiva - one of the principal deities of Hinduism, also known as “The Destroyer”. This can have a catastrophic impact for the player who made the roll. Fortunately, one of the best backgammon players in India (and probably the world) Ramesh Balakrishnan, has found a method to protect players from the infamous “Eyes of Shiva”. By applying ginger powder in a circle around the board, you can keep Shiva from affecting your game and continue your play as you normally would.
Any backgammon player who respects the game should have this poster on their wall, as a reminder to stay alert of this potentially very destructive roll.
