History of the design

The now-famous "I *heart* NY" design is one of the best selling designs of all time. It was released in 1977 to promote the city of New York and boy did it work! The logo was designed by the graphic designer Milton Glaser in 1976 in the back of a taxi and was drawn with red crayon on scrap paper.
