I am almost finished reading this book. Just going through the cubing quizzes. It starts off a little slow, but the buildup is important because GM Olsen introduces many important concepts, then it gets into the most important concepts of “pure” strategy that I didn’t quite understand before. My rating and error rate has been improving with Olsen’s book starting with How To Cube Like A Boss (I honestly barely knew the first thing about cubing before reading that book), then read his amazing Masterclass co-written with Super GM Mochi (you should absolutely read it if you read nothing else). Pure Strategy is well written (all complaints about editing have been almost 100% resolved in this edition, and it’s a great read for English readers). Highly recommend for all backgammon players aspiring to play better! Thanks GM Olsen for your enlightening contribution!
