We have a family games night at least once a month, but my kids (now in their 30's) have refused to play Backgammon with me for years. When my Hackgammon cards arrived at Christmas I kept it a secret until our next games night. They had to play it because it was the newest game. They loved it so much that they're playing backgammon again and one is coming to my club day this week. Thanks for breathing life into the game and helping to re-introduce it to so many.

Adding uncertainty to backgammon

I like the concept, but there are probably too many options and some of the cards are fundamentally too powerful. It might be better if each player has the same 3 cards and once they are played, they are out of action. Meaning, you cannot draw any more cards.
