Design Philosophy

The Primal Board captures the raw nature of early man and woman. The handmade checkers embody stone and fire in their appearance, while the zebrano wood grain suggests the flowing motion of fire.

The inlays feature earthy tones, reminiscent of a primal fire pit.

Real leather covers the case, handle, and accessories, invoking the respectful yet necessary hunt for daily sustenance.

Often, we turn to the stars and future for inspiration. This time, our love for history transported us to the early days of humanity.

The Primal Board was perfected through numerous color samples, trial and error, until we found the right balance.

We decided to honor the exquisite zebrano wood by increasing the size of the board from our usual Galaxy dimensions. This enhancement makes it a fantastic decorative and modern centerpiece in any home while maintaining a professional playing experience.
